They use the auto union as a tool to make you believe unions are bad so the CEO, board members and stockholders get wealthy, how often do you see Electric, Plumbing, Painters & Carpenter unions in the news week in week out? I have worked both sides and MUCH better off as a union member and none of us own a private jet, we are at war right here, don't take in everything the media tells you, who has the most to lose? look for yourself it is there, seek the correct info ask questions, Please!

I'd love to see management rioting in the streets! Then again, they'd probably just hire college kids for less than minimum wage to do the real work for them.

What a great video! The horror of fighting for workers to have more rights!!
Union = workers uniting. So, instead of saying, "those damn unions" you may as well be saying, "those damn workers." Which is most of us. We still have to fight for justice at work, and until wages are truly equal and fair, and healthcare coverage is actually affordable, we need the right to discuss organizing without being fired or threatened by people who will never have to worry about such things.

It would be Armageddon if EFCA passed, but only for the Republican Party and their razor thin majorities in a half dozen states.

The punishment for an abuse by management is nothing more than a requirement that they post a 8.5 x 11 piece of paper in the employee break room promising "not to do [whatever they did] again". The fact is that management can use tactics to intimidate workers and slow the process down to a crawl with no punishment at all. If the process worked, then why do 60% of workers say they want a union at their shop, but only 12% actually have one? The answer? Weak laws and illegal employer tactics.

Exhusband worked both union and non-union jobs - there is no comparison, one has great benefits, wages and regular hours, the other is unpredictable and dishonest. Unions preserve a "family" wage public demonstrations might be our only hope; God knows the CEOs don't give a rip! They will not even be reading this post!! Even though I make LESS money now than in 1980, I'm still glad I'm a bleeding heart liberal.

Wow, after years of massive inflation combined with pay cutbacks and loss of benefits, workers finally remember that they have to stand up for their rights. But my heart really does go out to the poor, check-to-check CEOs that might have to pay employees a livable wage. What is this country coming to? Who would have thought anyone cared about the middle class?

Our wonderful " market economy" has become a disaster for workers. Lack of unions in the workplace has led to the greatest wealth gap since the Gilded Age 100 yrs ago. Our "market economy" has given us more wealth ineqality--- more for the rich & less for everyone else!! Plus the loss of our retirements, health care, homes, jobs & any stability for raising families or planning for the future. WE WORKING PEOPLE NEED UNIONS AS MUCH AS EVER, IF THERE IS TO BE ANY MORE MIDDLE CLASS IN THE USA!!
