Dear Teabaggers, Here's The Right Way To Hold a Rally. Love, SEANC

SEANC_healthcarerally.jpgWhen SEANC/SEIU Local 2008 got wind that the Teabaggers planned an anti-reform protest at Congressman Bob Etheridge's office, they quickly started organizing with allies to hold a counter protest across the street. The result? More than 200 pro-healthcare reform supporters turned out in the streets of Raleigh to the counter protest, while only 30 to 40 Tea Party activists assembled across the street.

"You will not believe the numbers here...ours in the hundreds, theirs in the tens," said North Carolina Department of Transportation employee Joseph Oubain, on the day of the 'dueling' rallies. "It is about time the silent majority spoke up!" Watch video coverage of the rally on WRAL-TV.

See, here's the truth about turnout: Contrary to the narrative weaved by a disproportionate amount of media attention, there are more people in favor of comprehensive health care reform than against it--and they are speaking out across the country. Pollster Joel Benenson had this to say in an op-ed in The Washington Post this weekend:

In politics, new information is always the most potent. When it comes to health care and insurance, once reform passes, the tangible benefits Americans will realize will trump the fear-mongering rhetoric opponents are stoking today.
