SEIU members attend the Take Back the Capitol rally in December 2011.
Far too often, the priorities in Washington become skewed to protect tax breaks for the rich on the backs of seniors, students, and our most vulnerable.
On Wednesday, hundreds of SEIU members and local leaders from more than 20 states will visit Capitol Hill to lobby their Members of Congress to put jobs before cuts in the current debate over how to avoid going over the "fiscal cliff."
Leaders from across the country are traveling to DC to meet with their elected officials to underscore the choice Congress faces in the coming weeks: a future of continued economic growth, or devastating cuts that will cripple our recovery.
We need an approach that focuses first on job creation, which is the singularly best way to reduce the deficit. Americans deserve no less, and tomorrow, Congress will hear that message from the voters themselves.
Tomorrow, we'll be posting updates, photos, tweets, video and stories from our members' Congressional visits throughout the day.
