SEIU President Mary Kay Henry Statement In Support of President's Plan To Veto Tax Breaks For Corporations

Washington, DC - Today, in response to reports that Congress intends to permanently provide tax breaks for wealthy corporations without doing enough for working families, SEIU President Mary Kay Henry released the following statement:

Across the country, too many mothers and fathers work two to three jobs to build a decent life for their family but still live on the brink. America is not working for many working families, and giving tax breaks to big corporations while not doing enough for working families is the wrong priority for our nation.

"We whole-heartedly support President Obama's plans to veto this measure if it arrives on his desk. We will continue to rally our 2 million members and the communities they touch to fight for an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few."
