SEIU’s Sáenz: The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Rules on the Side of Justice

WASHINGTON, D.C.— In response to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling against President Trump’s rewritten Muslim and refugee ban, SEIU International Executive Vice President, and iAmerica Action President Rocio Sáenz issued the following statement:

“Once again, the courts have rejected President Trump’s un-American and hateful executive order and ruled in favor of justice.

“Americans will not be fooled.  It was clear that President Trump was repackaging just another version of the same discriminatory executive order that courts around the country rejected over and over again earlier this year.  We stand for democracy, diversity and religious freedom.  Americans understand that this is not who we are.

“President Trump’s ban impacts individuals that want to contribute to this great country taking care of our families by becoming doctors, creating new technologies to improve our lives, and in general do good for our country.  It impacts individuals who followed the rules and were vigorously vetted so they can be cleared to come to this country.

“SEIU vows to fight for our nation’s soul – and we won’t stop until these hateful policies are stopped.  We won’t back down.  We are here to stay.
