The BOLD Center

The SEIU Center for Building Organizations and Leadership Development

SEIU's The BOLD Center, a program of the Member Leadership and Action Department, builds on the foundation that the Institute for Change laid to build stronger locals and stronger leaders.

The BOLD Center's mission is to increase the individual leadership and organizational capacity of our union to achieve our strategic goals--including the Member Leadership and Action goal of activating and engaging at least 200,000 SEIU members in aspects of the Fair Economy work.

The BOLD Center programs focus on empowering Local Union executive boards, elected leaders and key staff to activate and engage SEIU members in aspects of the Fair Economy work.

Led by director Jevne Diaz, The BOLD Center supports locals and leaders through Organization Development and Leadership Development.

Organization Development

SEIU's The BOLD Center has assembled a group of highly-skilled and experienced organization development consultants who work extensively with SEIU and are committed to our vision and program. The support they provide includes executive board leadership development; senior leadership team development; performance management and staff development; vision and strategic planning; large-scale participatory planning events; and conflict resolution.

Leadership Development

The BOLD Center plans to expand current and create a number of new leadership development programs in partnership with the Divisions, Regions and Departments including the Coaching Program, The Rockwood Institute's Leading From the Inside Out: SEIU Yearlong Fellowship; Newly-Elected Leaders Program; Leaders that Reflect Our Membership; and Mentoring for Local Union Leaders.
