TV Ad: America Wants Green Jobs

By Kate Thomas on April 24, 2009 12:07 PM

SEIU and coalition partners MoveOn Political Action, Blue Green Alliance, AFL-CIO, Environmental Defense Fund and the League of Conservation Voters launched an ad this week called "America Wants Green Jobs," to highlight good, green jobs in the clean energy economy.

The ad calls on Congress to pass an energy bill that halts the economic crisis, creates green jobs and ends dependence on foreign oil. It will air on national cable and prime-time network television for at least the next week.

America wants green jobs, and passing comprehensive clean energy legislation in 2009 will help us to create more jobs like these. We've got to make sure we've got a united offensive to show decision makers this is the change our country wants and needs.

Tell Congress to create millions of new clean energy jobs for American workers by passing comprehensive energy and climate legislation

New TV Ad for the Employee Free Choice Act: "Fabric of America"

By Michael Whitney on April 3, 2009 1:32 PM

Politico reports on a new ad for the Employee Free Choice Act that debuts this weekend:

Labor groups are running a new ad, "Fabric of America," which was shot in an actual flag factory that uses union workers. The spot, by American Rights at Work, will run on broadcast and cable in key states, and on national cable.

Watch the ad here:

The Huffington Post reports on why this ad will run:

"This recess, we will not allow our leaders to forget that workers across the country are counting on them to make the economy work for everyone again," said American Rights at Work director Mary Beth Maxwell in a press release, which says plans are set for rallies, leafleting, town hall meetings, and other activities during the recess.

And here's the script of the ad:

"It's an idea that makes America strong.

"It's a fair day's pay for a hard day's work. It's health insurance when you're sick or injured. It's job security to provide for your family. It's the fabric of a sound economy. It built the middle class.

"And it's what the Employee Free Choice Act is all about: Letting workers choose to join a union to earn better pay and benefits.

"The Employee Free Choice Act. It's time our economy worked for everyone again."

SEIU Ad Praising Sen. Reid's Work on Behalf of Nevada's Working Families

By Kate Thomas on January 30, 2009 3:55 PM

SEIU believes in rewarding work and in tune with motto, we're rolling out a new television ad campaign today in support of Senator Harry Reid's work on behalf of Nevada's working families.

The statewide cable ad, titled "Hard Work," highlights a few of the many issues Senator Reid has been spearheading on behalf of Nevada's families, including healthcare reform, investments in alternative energy, rebuilding our infrastructure and an economic recovery package that works for every American.

Sen. Reid has worked to bring Republicans and Democrats together to fix the economic mess that President Bush and his Wall Street cronies left working families as they rode into the sunset with billions in taxpayer-financed bonuses. "Our nation's economy is in a state of emergency. The costs of inaction are too steep. It is time to put the needs of the American people ahead of partisan politics," said Reid earlier this month.

Watch the tv ad (the first of the 2010 campaign) here:

SEIU launched a new TV ad buy today about the importance of healthcare reform in regaining the economic prosperity of this nation.
