As part of that segment, she discussed with Peter Dreier, professor of politics at Occidental College in Los Angeles, why they're trying to target the SEIU next.

Despite some unbalanced reporting, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis's support for the Employee Free Choice Act is not remotely in question. Secretary Solis's labor record is beyond reproach, and her support for the Employee Free Choice Act has never wavered.

Here's what Secretary Solis has said just in the last six weeks in support the Employee Free Choice Act:

Secretary Solis' spokeswoman released a new statement in support of the Employee Free Choice Act in response to the unbalanced report so there won't be confusion in the future:

"She supports EFCA, has supported EFCA and will support whatever action Congress can ultimately take to restore balance and make it easier for workers to form unions and increase wages," a Labor spokeswoman said. "She believes that unions help grow the middle class."

The Senate holds its first hearing on the bill this morning, in which workers, economists, and nonprofit leaders will tell Members of Congress why they support the Employee Free Choice Act.
