SEIU Ad Reminds Michigan Voters Why They Already Fired Tim Walberg
Lansing, MI - Today, Michigan members of SEIU released a new television ad, titled Pink Slip," that will air on broadcast and cable across Michigan's 7th Congressional District. The ad highlights Tim Walberg's history of siding with Big Oil and Wall Street hedge fund managers instead of Michigan's middle class families the last time he was in Congress.
The independent ad buy of $250,000, provided by the voluntary contributions of SEIU members, is in response to Walberg's efforts to mislead voters into thinking he would work to lower taxes and create jobs when the record shows he was fired from Congress for failing to help Michigan families in the first place.
"New election, same old failed policies from Tim Walberg," said SEIU Healthcare Michigan President Marge Faville, RN. "He is against tax cuts for middle class families and wants to put our retirement the hands of his same Wall Street buddies who wrecked the economy. Voters gave him a pink slip once and he doesn't seem to have learned any lessons."
There are 80,000 SEIU members across Michigan, including more than 5,000 in the 7th Congressional District.
The ad, produced by The New Media Firm, can be viewed at:

"Pink Slip" - 30 seconds
VOICEOVER:
Tim Walberg wants to go back to Congress.
But what did he do to help Michigan the last time he had the job?
When our auto industries were struggling - Walberg skipped the vote to help them get them back on their feet.
He opposed middle class tax cuts.
But voted for tax breaks for oil companies and hedge funds.
And Walberg even says he wants to privatize and ultimately eliminate Social Security.
We already gave Walberg a pink slip. This time, let's make sure he gets the message.
