DENVER, CO-SEIU member and school custodian Marshall Clemons will join Senator Biden and his family to watch the Democratic Convention tonight. Biden spent a day last year working on the job with Clemons at his Cedar Rapids school before joining Clemons and his family for dinner.
Biden and Clemons repaired a boiler, swept floors, replaced air conditioning filters, and monitored the school grounds. Since then, the two have kept in touch to discuss their families, the campaign trail, and the changes working people need to support their families.
"When Senator Biden walked a day in my shoes, he didn't just want stand around and watch-he wanted to work,"said Clemons. "Now he understands the hard work custodians like me do each day to ensure children have a safe and clean place to learn."
"I can't wait to watch my friend accept the vice-presidential nomination tonight,"added Clemons. "And I can't wait to go home and help win Iowa for Senators Obama and Biden in November."
