New SEIU.org "Not Your Traditional Labor Site"
Features Include Action Items, Mobile Alerts,
Google Mapping Directory, Improved Access to Member Resources
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) re-launched its website, seiu.org, which now features fresh, daily content covering the broad spectrum of SEIU's political action, campaigns and local union activities. The new website is designed to be a tool for union members, community advocates, the public and the media to take action on issues important to working families.
"The new SEIU.org will be a powerful tool for millions of Americans who want their voices heard on issues like affordable, quality healthcare for all, wages that support families, freedom to join unions and retirement security," said Anna Burger, SEIU Secretary-Treasurer. "We are hitting the ground running for not only the election but for the critical first days of the Obama administration we are working toward."
A primary focus of the site is to encourage visitors to take action on political and legislative initiatives, sign petitions and sign-up for regular updates on SEIU's key advocacy campaigns to help raise concerns of working men and women.
Additional features include:
* SEIU's Blog
* Topic and state-specific RSS feeds
* Mobile Alert sign-up options
* Links to SEIU's YouTube and Flickr pages
* Social Networking links to Twitter, Facebook
Today's re-launch of seiu.org is just the beginning - new features will be added on a regular basis in the run-up to the election.
