Vice-President Joe Biden, chair of the new Middle Class Working Families Task Force, in an interview yesterday with CNBC:
"I do believe--and I make no apologies for it--that over the last 100 years the middle class was built on the back of organized labor. Without their weight, heft and their insistence starting in the early 1900s we wouldn't have the middle class we have now, in my view. So I think labor getting a fair share of the pie is part of it."

I am extremely happy that there has been this renewed recognition into who built this country, unions! Then to see what has happened in this country today, the highest unemployment in twenty six years! Is it ironic that I have twenty six years at MGPI, Midwest Grain Products of Illinlois, a subsidized ethanol producing company, that has two-thirds of their union workers laid off including myself? This , at my age, fifty-six, came as more of a shock to me than the recent ex-governor Blagojevich impeachment! This lay-off MGPI has termed "temporary" for myself. I hope so! My eighty six year old father resides with me along with my wife and six year old daughter.
The time is NOW to help this struggling economy! The oil companies reaping record profits need investigated! There is but one example of wrongdoing to these union, laid-off , workers!
