Call the Senate: Support the Credit Cardholder Bill of Rights

At this very moment, the halls of Congress are crawling with Big Bank lobbyists. They're doing all they can to defeat a bill that would stop the abuses of the credit card industry.

President Obama said he wants to sign a bill that protects credit card holders, but Big Banks are twisting the arms of your senators to get them to oppose even the most basic reforms.

Make the call now: tell your senators to support the Dodd-Shelby amendment to the Credit Cardholder Bill of Rights.

Why do we need credit card reform? Here's what President Obama said on Saturday:

"Americans ... have a right to not get ripped off by the sudden rate hikes, unfair penalties, and hidden fees that have become all-too common in our credit card industry.''

The same people who crashed our economy got rich by promoting predatory practices. Now they're trying to convince Congress to let them keep right on going.

Unfortunately, the Big Banks have a leg up on us. They've spent millions of dollars in campaign contributions to Congress, and millions more on lobbyists. Said one top senator of the Big Banks: "they frankly own the place."

It's time to show the Big Banks who really owns the place. Please take a minute to call your senators and tell them to support the Credit Cardholder Bill of Rights.

Call both senators in your state toll-free: 1-866-311-3405

This is one of the first steps to taking back our economy. And your phone call make the difference.
