| Description: | Growth organizers at SEIU Healthcare 775NW are responsible for bringing new members into the union. In the past 3 years, SEIU Healthcare 775NW has organized over 4,000 new members. Organizers in the Growth department help workers form a union by house-visiting workers, identifying and developing leaders, and mobilizing members and the community to support pro-worker legislation. Growth organizers work on campaigns throughout the States of Washington and Montana. Organizers also have the chance to work on organizing campaigns for health care workers across the country. Currently, many organizers are participating in the campaign to pass national health reform and the Employee Free Choice Act. |
| Qualifications: | Excellent communication skills, ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds/cultures, ability to work independently as well as on a team, commitment to justice for working people, willingness to work long and irregular hours. Willingness to travel is a requirement. No prior organizing experience is necessary. Requirements -Personal commitment to the mission and goals of SEIU and to the specific program of SEIU Healthcare 775NW. -Having a valid drivers’ license and a reliable, insured car. -The ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. |

| Compensation: | This position is covered by the Staff Union, and pay is based on experience. Excellent benefits include family health insurance, car allowance, and cell phone reimbursement. |
