If you're used to tuning in to CNN between 7:00 and 8:00 pm - tonight you may notice the absence of the Lou Dobbs Tonight show. That's because last night was Lou Dobbs' last show after announcing--in his opening monologue--that he was leaving CNN at the conclusion of his show.
Dobbs said:
"Over the past six months, it's become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us."
For once, Lou Dobbs is right about something. Strong winds of change have come to this country and American viewers are tired of Lou Dobbs' one-sided, scapegoating crusade against immigrants.
Previously we blogged that the Drop Dobbs and Basta Dobbs campaigns have gotten hundreds of thousands of supporters to sign online petitions urging CNN to take Lou Dobbs off the air.
These future leaders know that hate speech can't raise wages and living standards for workers, provide affordable healthcare, fix our economy or solve immigration. They know that America doesn't need zealots; we need smart, thoughtful leaders who bring communities together to solve our nation's most critical challenges.
Congratulations are in order for their efforts to hold CNN and Lou Dobbs accountable.
