There are no shortage of television networks and online outlets offering special live coverage of the President's State of the Union (SOTU) address this year, which will air tomorrow night starting at 9:00 p.m. EST / 6:00 p.m. PST. During the address, President Obama will outline his legislative agenda and national priorities to Congress. Not surprisingly, the expected topics are all hot-button issues: health care reform, jobs, the state of the economy and immigration.
Even if you're not by your TV or your computer, you can still watch the address on the go via a new White House app for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. Here's a compilation of options for viewing the State of the Union address tomorrow night.
TELEVISION
The following 10 news stations have confirmed they'll be airing live coverage of the State of the Union Address tomorrow night:
ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, FNC, BET and PBS
ONLINE
WhiteHouse.gov: The White House is streaming the SOTU speech live at www.whitehouse.gov/live.
CNN will start with its online coverage of the SOTU speech at 7:30 p.m. EST. The entire live speech, as well as the GOP's response to it, will be shown next to comments from Facebook users.
C-SPAN's coverage of the SOTU will be accompanied by a transcript based on closed captions in near-real time.
PBS: Along with hosting live coverage, PBS is soliciting video responses (of 60 sec. or less) from viewers on their YouTube channel once the speech starts on Wednesday.
YouTube will air the speech on its Citizentube channel, and incorporate a live comments stream from viewers.
Facebook: The social networking site will air the State of the Union video alongside a real-time status feed pulling in updates from everybody watching the address on the the site.
