Around 250 health care supporters rallied on the steps of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's headquarters in Washington, DC yesterday to send a clear message to Congress: if we allow corporate lobbyists to win, the people will lose.
Watch what unfolded on the steps of the U.S. Chamber across from the White House:
Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare President Dr. L. Toni Lewis joined influential leaders from HCAN, MoveOn.org, NAACP, Common Cause, UFCW, AFSCME, CAF, CCC, U.S. Action and more to speak out against the insurance giants and corporations who are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to block the changes America demands. At the rally, we also heard the powerful voices of numerous Americans like Stacie Ritter who've had suffered immeasurably from a lack of coverage or the high cost of care. Now more than ever, we need Congress to stand up to the Chamber, insurance industry giants and corporations who are spending millions and millions of money lobbying our elected officials and funding attack ads to kill health reform. Tell your member of Congress that a comprehensive bill is the only way to fix the health care system.
