VIDEO: Richard, Meet Rosalina

Scroll down for video from today's rally.

rosalina_emotional_cropped.jpgYou have the attention of one of the richest men in America.

Over the past two weeks, we've worked hard to get the ear of Richard Davis, CEO of US Bank. We wanted to talk to him about how his bank has hurt people like Rosalina Gavilan Gomez, the woman who makes $12.97 an hour to clean his executive office every night. US Bank bought up her house through foreclosure and told her that she, her husband, and her son had to be out by March 11th.

So, we did everything we could to get his attention. We sent emails to his fellow US Bank execs when the met in St. Paul, MN. We've held actions at the big bank towers downtown. And we planned to talk to him directly today as he accepted an award at a luncheon that cost up to $1,500.00 to attend.

He's finally gotten the message. Today, executives at US Bank announced they will sit down with Rosalina to find a way to keep her and her family in their home. It's wonderful news. But, unless Richard Davis can find room in his schedule to meet with the other 88,000 families in the Twin Cities who have lost their homes, it's not enough. Not even close.

There are still janitors cleaning the very building that the bankers work in who are facing foreclosure. Some months, they have to decide whether to buy food for the dinner table or make their rising mortgage payments. For Rosalina, the payments have reached $2,000 per month and, until now, the bank refused to renegotiate.

We cannot keep letting the big banks use the economic crisis they created as an excuse to take us for everything we have. Twin Cities janitors have had enough. They're standing up to the big banks. Will you stand with them? Click here to sign a petition supporting Rosalina and her fellow Twin Cities janitors.

Richard Davis is listening. Let's not waste this opportunity to tell him what he needs to hear.
