As we march online and on the phones, hundreds of people will also be marching through the streets of Washington to Capitol Hill in honor of Melanie Shouse.[*] Melanie recently lost a long battle with breast cancer after missing out on critical treatment because she, like thousands of others, could not find affordable health insurance.
The sense in Washington is that next week will be an important week for health care. People will be on the streets, members of Congress will be meeting with the White House, and now, a million voices will surround Washington, calling for the passage of real health reform. We need as many people as possible to sign up for the Virtual March in advance, and then to call Congress on the day of the March.
