- For more than two years, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has had just two of its five members. This weekend that ended, as President Obama announced the appointment of two seats on the NLRB to Democrat nominees Craig Becker and Mark Pearce.
- Proving that some of the best ideas for saving money, increasing efficiency, and improving government services come from employees on the front lines, two SEIU members--Lonney Dickinson and Nancy Fichtner--and have recently won awards and gained recognition for their cost-saving ideas.

- Two new tax benefits aid employers who hire and retain unemployed workers.
- The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has launched a new global campaign to help global unions combine their day-to-day work and help young people join unions. Check out ITUC's blog here.
- In Illinois, Governor Quinn, Speaker Madigan and President Cullerton collectively threw state and municipal workers under the bus last week in a hasty political move that cut pensions, upped the retirement age, reduced COLAs and capped retirement earnings.
