Having a baby? No house for you!

Mother_Child.jpg

As the New York Times revealed last week, real estate lenders commonly refuse to lend to new parents, or prospective parents with upcoming maternity leaves. It's hard to think of a time in a person's life when they're more likely to need a new home.

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has responded by saying they'll be launching an investigation. Good.

You can go here to learn more and send a message of support to HUD officials looking to stop the outrageous practice of denying people homes because they're expanding their families.

Mothers on maternity leave have jobs and incomes just like all other Americans who work for a living--and they shouldn't lose their deal to close on a house because they had a baby. Tell HUD to help end housing discrimination for mothers.
