SEIU ULTCW members traveled to Phoenix, Arizona on July 29th and they documented their experiences on the ground.

The day started out at early (4:00 a.m.!) for over 100 ULTCW members and staff, as they boarded AZ-bound buses at Dodgers Stadium to caravan to Phoenix in support of immigration reform. Check out their live updates from the day on Facebook here.
Watch video highlights of ULTCW members' journey to AZ, where they took to the streets as part of the July 29th International Day of Non-Compliance:
During the course of the day's actions in Phoenix--which included a protest against planned raids on immigrant communities by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio--at least 38 protesters were arrested for their acts of civil disobedience.
Across the country, demonstrators several cities in California (San Francisco, Oakland, & Los Angeles), New York, Boston and Detroit also took to the streets to show solidarity and highlight the need for additional action on immigration reform by Congress and President Obama.
After the SB1070 victory in federal court, SEIU members are even more committed to a national effort to fix our broken immigration laws. Because one thing is crystal clear: Comprehensive immigration reform is the only way to avoid more situations like Arizona's.
