What Labor Day Means To Us

This Labor Day, it's time to get real about what it's going to take to restore fairness to our economy. We know that working people are facing the greatest economic crisis of our generation. It's time once again to unite our collective strength to bring justice and economic fairness back to our communities.

Here are just a few of many Labor Day events SEIU members are holding across the country:

  • In Los Angeles, SEIU members hosted 5,000 workers and families for the first annual Fresh Start Community Fair. The massive community celebration focused on how community members can rebuild their city by joining together.
  • In Boston tomorrow, SEIU members and leaders will partner with community leaders and elected officials for a "Paving the Way to Prosperity" Labor Day march and rally to call for the bold changes we need to put Americans back to work and rebuild our communities.
  • There will be barbecues, parades, and community events in Milwaukee, Toledo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Lorain, Toronto, Fresno and other cities across the country.
