Messages of solidarity for Wisconsin, part 2 #solidarity

ThankAUnion.jpgAmericans are standing up to Governor Walker and the politicians who are launching political attacks on fire fighters, teachers, nurses, snowplow drivers, EMTs and other hardworking people who keep our communities safe.

Check out more messages of support to those who've been fighting for their rights in Madison all week and send one of your own.

Colleen from Milwaukee, WI:

I'm a Wisconsin resident. I'm so proud of my state I'm at a loss for words. I wish I could be in Madison right now. Stand strong all you protestors!

Stan, a retired teacher from Silver Spring, MD:

I'm with you 100%. The right to collective bargaining is the most important right working people have. Not only pay, but also bargaining for safe working conditions, pensions, lunch and work breaks, promotions, etc.

Unions help get progressive laws for all Americans, such as no racial or gender discrimination and minimum wage laws. Keep up the protest until you win. You are fighting for all of us who work or have worked for a living.

Deborah from Palm Springs, CA:

I have no union members in my family and I do not directly benefit from collective bargaining. However, I'm smart enough to know that all American workers benefit when workers anywhere get a fair deal. Thank you for fighting for all of us.

Denny from Seattle, WA:

Dear Wisconsin protestors: Thank you for your courage and perseverance to stand up to these attacks on labor rights for all U. S. citizens. You are doing the right thing and I support you 100%. Bless each one of you.

Donna from Aurora, CO:

Although I am a 70-year old retired senior from Colorado, I want to thank all of you for your bravery and dedication. I feel your actions will not only help today's workers, but tomorrow's workers as well. I only wish more workers realized who set the working standards in this country.

Scott, an RN from Las Vegas, NV:

We stand behind you, your loss would be our loss and your gain will be our gain. This is what we as a nation can face if we do not stop these Republican attacks in their tracks. Time now to start working diligently for 2012!

John from Swan Lake, NY:

Wish the weather was better for you. Wish I could be marching beside you. You are all in my heart! Please, for the whole country's sake, don't give up!!!

Reva from Los Angeles, CA:

Thank you for your stand against the people who are trying to union-bust. I am old enough to remember the 1930s when Walter Reuther fought for the autoworkers. If we do not stop these oligarchs, we will have a nation ruled by the likes of the Koch Brothers. Many of us are behind you. I will be making a donation to Wisconsin Democrats in you name. Keep fighting!

Democrats are not the only ones voicing their support for workers in Wisconsin...

Veronica from Lancaster, CA:

I am a Republican who believes in and supports and will fight for collective bargaining rights.

Merrily from Mojave, CA:

Keep up the fight, the Republicans are out of control, this from a former 40 year Republican, now a Democrat.

Spread the word

Take Action
