The End of Medicare #the-healthcare-law

DESCRIPTION

A budget that would take away Grandma's lifeline? Tell Congress to vote NO.

On Tuesday, Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced the Republican’s 10-year budget proposal. Not only will this plan repeal the Affordable Care Act and take way health insurance from more than 32 million Americans -- it will also end Medicaid and Medicare as we know it.

This budget plan does nothing to control escalating healthcare costs – it would simply enrich insurance companies and give huge tax breaks to big corporations and millionaires, while seniors and hard-working families would pay more for healthcare while receiving less coverage.

We have to fight for these life-saving programs that our seniors, people with disabilities and children depend upon today. Call your member of Congress and tell them to say no to extreme congressional attempts to balance the budget on the backs of seniors and working families.

This isn’t just about the budget--it’s about what we value as a country.  Do we value ensuring a strong Medicare program that will be there for seniors when they need it? The extreme budget plan from House Republicans would have us turn our backs on our parents and grandparents who depend upon Medicare as their lifeline.

We’ve got to put the heat on members of Congress to fight this proposal tooth and nail until we have a federal budget that does not inflict egregious harm on those who can least afford it. Will you call your member of Congress today to reject the radical Ryan budget proposal?

The House Republicans' budget proposal breaks America's most basic promise: That if you work hard and play by the rules, you can take care of your family and retire with peace of mind, knowing that you won't have to break the bank if you get sick.

Call Congress today to reject the radical Ryan budget proposal.
