SEIU nurses at Kern Medical Center (KMC) are taking part in a national initiative created by the SEIU Nurse Alliance to educate their patients about the benefits of the Affordable Care Act.
A team from Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California recently held a training on the benefits of the new healthcare law to nurses from around Kern County in SEIU Locals 521 and 1000.
"This training was truly informative and our patients really need this information. The healthcare law will keep more patients healthy and enable better access to care," said SEIU Local 1000 member Gloria Pacleb-Cadiz, RN.
More "Empowering Patients" trainings are in the works for October and November in several states across the country.
