"As adjuncts, we've always felt alone and isolated. Joining together in SEA/SEIU Local 1984 allows us to be part of positive change and win the respect that we deserve as professional educators."

Adjunct professors across New Hampshire are uniting with SEIU
While many colleges and universities are relying on part-time faculty to educate their students, professors at several New Hampshire colleges are joining together to ensure that adjuncts are compensated fairly for they work they do - so they can preserve the quality of education and improve the quality of their jobs.
At both the University of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Community College system, adjunct professors have formed their unions with SEA /SEIU Local 1984- the New Hampshire State Employees Association.
"Whether it's winning better pay, health insurance or improving our general working conditions, we can do all of these things by standing together in SEA", said Craig Cushing–– an adjunct professor at NHTI in Concord.
And the movement is still spreading. Just last month (December 2011), adjunct professors at Plymouth State University, also in New Hampshire, overwhelmingly voted to form their union with SEA/SEIU Local 1984. More than 800 professors across the state have united in Local 1984. Thousands of adjunct professors throughout the country have formed their unions with SEIU and continue to fight for better wages and benefits and higher standards.
