Our hearts and wallets are safer #the-healthcare-law

20120301signup-stopwaronHC.jpgOn Thursday, the Blunt amendment was defeated and our access to no-cost preventive health services was protected.

Thousands of activists like you spoke up for women's access to contraception these last few weeks. Your phone calls, signed petitions, letters, videos, Facebook wall posts and Tweets in support of women's access to contraception wrangled the media's attention - and let our elected leaders know that we're paying attention to their votes.

Thank you for being a part of this victory for women's health!

Extremists in Congress have woken up millions of working families across the country to the fact that the healthcare law will improve their healthcare and help their wallets. More attacks on the law and our healthcare are coming, especially with the second anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act coming up on March 23, 2012.

  • In Virginia and Pennsylvania, legislation to curtail women's access to contraception and other preventative health services has been proposed.
  • Other states like Alabama are considering similarly dangerous bills.
If we stand strong, we will show others how the law is helping America's working families lead healthier and longer lives and protect access to affordable healthcare. We can't afford to lose the health care we fought so hard to win.

Join me in the fight to protect the healthcare law.
