AFSCME and SEIU Partner in New Ad Detailing Impact of Coors' Plan on Middle and Working Class Families

Denver - Members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) today launched a new television ad in Colorado's 7th Congressional District that spells out what the economic plan of out-of-touch Republican candidate Joe Coors means for middle and working class families.

Coors, who said he is proud to be part of the richest 1% of Americans, supports a plan that would deliver a $265,000 tax cut to the rich while the rest of Colorado is stuck with a tax hike of almost $1,400.

"Joe Coors clearly doesn't understand that Coloradans want corporations and the richest 1% to pay their fair share toward an economy that works for everyone," said Scott Wasserman, Executive Director of Colorado WINS. "Voters need to know that Coors' extreme plan will only benefit billionaires and millionaires like him, not the hardworking men and women who wake up every day and keep Colorado moving forward."

Colorado Workers for Innovative and New Solutions (Colorado WINS) Local 1876 is a joint local of AFSCME, SEIU and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).

AFSCME's "Rooster" and SEIU's "Cock-a-Doodle-Doo," a more than $500,000 ad buy, will run on broadcast and cable in the Denver media market. The ad buy exceeds $500,000. A copy of the ad can be viewed at http://youtu.be/5PDldxg7Bm0 or http://youtu.be/VqNwYFVhPCE.

ANNCR: Millionaire Joe Coors.

He sure likes to crow.

Saying he's 'proud' to be part of the richest one percent of Americans.

But the problem is, the extreme plan Coors backs would help the top 1%.....and hurt the rest of us.

Raising taxes for middle-class families by up to $1,400.

While cutting taxes for millionaires like him by $265,000.

Joe Coors. An extreme wake up call for Colorado's middle-class.
