Mitch Ackerman leads the union's efforts to help thousands of workers in the South and Southwest unite their strength to improve their jobs and the services they provide in their communities. For the past 20 years, he has worked to improve the lives of low-wage, private sector workers in the service industries represented by SEIU as they gain a voice on the job, beginning with organizing workers in the historic Justice for Janitors campaign.
