Investing in our youth to secure our future

The SEIU Millennial Program was launched at our 2012 Convention in Denver, Colorado to identify and develop young members to become leaders in our chapters, our locals, and our International Union. SEIU locals are implementing new strategies including forming member-driven committees of workers under 35 that allow the perspective and energy of our younger members to enhance the work of the union on both the local and International level. The emergence a new generation of SEIU member activists comes at the same time as the growth of a number of visionary movements in the streets lead by Millennials against income inequality, racial profiling, student debt, and a broken immigration system among other important battles. SEIU Millennial Members are helping lead the broad movement for social and economic justice!
