Aug 04, 2009 - Childhood obesity rates in the United States have tripled,according to a new study by the Academic Pediatrics journal. Using data collected by the National Health and Nutrition Survey, researchers looked at 12,384 children aged from 2 to 19 years, and were able to conclude that found that 3.8 percent of the children within the sample meet the criteria for "severe obesity."
