New anti-immigrant legislation in Alabama has legitimized racial profiling in the state. The passage of House Bill 56 (HB 56) has terrorized persons of color (regardless of their legal status) and entrapped foreigners. It has frightened children and greatly harmed the state's economy. Anything short of repeal is unacceptable.
