SEIU nurses and healthcare workers who care for patients everyday know that there are still too many patients who cannot afford the healthcare coverage they need, including contraception. But thanks to the nation's healthcare law, this is about to change. Starting this August, most health insurance plans will be required to cover women's preventive services, including contraception, without charging a co-pay or deductible. This is a tremendous milestone for women's health and equality in our country.

Today SEIU released a new Spanish language radio ad in Florida and Nevada to educate voters about the "two-faces" of Mitt Romney and his unbelievably low 13.9 percent tax rate. The ad is part of the SEIU-Priorities USA Action campaign to pound the pavement and cover the airwaves to remind voters of Romney's anti-immigrant and anti-working family record.

Members of the two Oregon-based SEIU Locals 503 and 49 are celebrating Democrat Suzanne Bonamici's victory as a decisive indication of public support for worker-friendly candidates and a repudiation of Republican policies that have hurt all but the wealthiest Americans.
