More money came into our economy, people had more purchasing power, and workers were able to spend more time with their families—instead of working multiple jobs to make ends meet.

Minimum Wage Increase Passed!

After the turnover in leadership of the 110th Congress to Democratic control last November, Congress passed a bill May 24th increasing the federal minimum wage to $7.25 an hour over three years. The first of the three 70 cents an hour increases took effect July 24th.
