As a home care worker, a mom and a proud member of SEIU Nevada Local 1107, it’s important to me that the 2020 presidential candidates have a plan to improve the lives of working families like mine. 

Every day I see how families face the crushing costs of caring for a parent or grandparent. At the same time, home care workers providing that care are paid too little, without basic benefits or training—the same is true for other workers and many of us are struggling to make ends meet. 

I know for sure that our next president needs to put America’s workers first and make sure that every worker in the nation has the chance to join a union, no matter where they work. Working people must be able to join together to bargain for a better life, for ourselves and our families.
