Here’s background information on how to complete each action:

• Register for NEO Zoom Training: On Saturday, June 8th, we will hold a Zoom training for best practices for running a New Hire Orientation. Register here and commit to attending in order to complete this action.

• Find Your Online COPE Form: Many Locals have, on their website, a link to where existing members can sign up to also start contributing to the SEIU COPE Political Fund, which helps ensure that we have the political power to protect our hard-earned political and legislative victories that improve public services and the lives of working families. You will need to show this to staff at Rise Up Records to complete this action.

• Find Your Online Membership Form: The vast majority of Locals have, on their website, a link to where existing non-members can sign up to join as a member of their union. You will need to show this to staff at Rise Up Records to complete this action.

• Write a New Hire Script: In the CD case you were given, there’s a script with fill-in-the-blank responses and open-ended questions. Write out the answers to those questions and show them to the staff at Rise Up Records to complete this action.

• Watch NEO Video: Watch this video and be prepared to answer questions about it at Rise Up Records to complete this action.

• Email (or text) a Non-Member to Join: Is there someone else at work who isn’t yet in the union? Someone new, or someone who just hasn’t had an opportunity to learn more about our union? Send them an email -- or a text! -- letting them know about the value that our union provides to them at work to complete this action.

• Fill Out NEO Leader Form: Are you interested in signing up with your Local to be an NEO Leader, and run orientations at work yourself and answer questions from new hires? If so, fill out this form.

• Recruit Coworkers to NEO Leader Form: The NEO Leader form has a field for who asked them to fill out the form. If someone else puts your name in that field the first time they sign the form, then you have completed this action.

• Post Member Form to Social Media: Some of our colleagues who work with us are connected on social media. Post online about being proud to be a union member and include a link to your Local’s online membership form. Show your post to the Rise Up Records staff to complete this action.
