SEIU and iAmerica Action Join Mi Familia Vota and Immigrant Rights Groups in National Week of Action

From Voter Reg to GOTV, Local Groups Ramp Up Efforts to Make Sure Community Gets Out to Vote In November

Washington, DC – With just weeks from one of the most racially and ethnically diverse elections in history, and with Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Afro-Caribbean, and immigrant voters poised to impact down-ballot races nationwide, SEIU (Service Employees International Union) and iAmerica Action join immigrant rights groups kick off ‘Get Out the Vote’ mobilization efforts in battleground states across the nation.

Thousands of volunteers are ready to knock on doors, call their neighbors, and rally voters to elect leaders who will be champions on the issues that matter to them most: raising wages, child and home care, immigrant, racial and environmental justice.

“As the threat to working families become palpable, there is emerging consensus not just to react, but to act.  Together with our coalition partners, we helped our community become U.S citizens, register to vote, and today we will make sure our community acts by getting out to vote,” said SEIU Executive Vice President, Rocio Saenz.
