I’m a wheelchair attendant at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Because we organized our union with SEIU United Service Workers West, we’ve won raises and affordable healthcare. Of course, we still have room to grow, and are always working to strengthen our union and improve our jobs.

We just finished negotiating a new contract, and I’m celebrating by going on a road trip with my wife and our two-year-old. We’re going to drive through California and Oregon.

We love to take walks together as a family, even if it’s just around the neighborhood.

When I think about strengthening our union, I think about the way we can give our kids more opportunities by improving our jobs.

That’s why we’re standing together in Los Angeles, and with airport workers across the country. More than 110,000 airport workers have already won raises and other improvements, and I know this is just the tip of the iceberg.

As we say in L.A., “¡Sí se puede!”
