June 29, 2026 — Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Executive Vice President Joseph Bryant issued the following statement after the Supreme Court handed down the decision in Watson v. Republican National Committee, determining the validity of mail-in ballots received after Election Day: 

“Today’s Supreme Court decision on voting rights is a win for workers across the country. By stopping this attempt by the Republican National Committee to make mail-in voting more challenging, this decision has ensured that the votes of working people, whether they live in deeply rural communities, travel, work long shifts, or otherwise may not be able to get to the polls on Election Day, are protected. Let’s be clear: This was just one undertaking by Trump’s White House and the RNC to further rig the system for themselves. With ongoing efforts to silence our votes, we must continue to organize, mobilize and show up to win money, power and respect for all communities.”
