“SEIU members, as well as working people everywhere, will not tolerate President Trump’s latest attempt to interfere with our elections and silence our voices. Trump and his allies want us to look the other way as they cut more funding from healthcare, dismantle essential services, and give tax breaks to the wealthy. He knows he has already lost the votes of working people around the country, so he is grasping at ways to stay in power—from gutting the Voting Rights Act and the Election Assistance Commission to putting up barriers to our vote. This evening he will go further still, by casting doubt on the votes of Georgia’s working people and voters everywhere with unfounded claims of fraud. But we won’t be silenced. We’ll double down on our organizing and show up. We’ll make sure every vote counts in November, and we’ll ensure politicians who continue to make our lives harder are held accountable at the ballot box.”
