Nursing home workers: still facing impossible choices during COVID


This week’s #WalkoutWednesday conversation with SEIU President Mary Kay Henry lifted up nursing home workers to talk about the spread of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities and how caregivers are joining together to fight back.

Most nursing home and home care workers in the US are Black, brown and Asian Pacific Islander women—and they are bearing the loss and suffering of the pandemic at disproportionate, excessive rates. This is a moment to defend Black lives, lift up Black worker stories and center what Black communities need.
