The ACA is here to stay.

More than 16 million Americans who didn’t have health insurance before the Affordable Care Act (ACA) now have access to quality, affordable coverage. The Affordable Care Act – or, Obamacare – is making healthcare more affordable for all Americans, regardless of where they live or work.

As a result of all the law’s coverage expansions, nearly 90% of all Americans have health insurance, leading to greater health and financial security for families, hospitals, and communities.

The Affordable Care Act protects individuals from being denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition, like high blood pressure or asthma, and cannot have their coverage dropped if they get sick.

Tax credits have allowed all Americans, but particularly Latinos, African Americans, and young people—those who typically fare the worst in our economy—to afford healthcare for their families, many for the very first time.
